Yeah, I’m a car person. I’m a big time car person. It’s the once place where my liberal cred really falls down. If I won the lottery I would have like eight or ten cars. So, in that spirit I went out to the car show in the parking lot across from the Round House this morning to check out the all electric Lucid. I’ve been reading about them in Car & Driver, vehicle won car of the year, and it’s slick. It’s also narrower than the Tesla S which would be nice because sneaking into the garage is a challenge in the Tesla.

Took it for a test drive and it’s impressive as hell. Acceleration is very fast, but it doesn’t jack rabbit like the Tesla because it’s a heavier car. It has amazing safety features including a blind spot camera to warn you if there is a car or a person or a kid or a pet there. Very luxurious interior. Lots of trunk and frunk space, back seats can be laid down like in the Tesla.

Big draw for me is the range, 425 miles which in a state as big and empty as New Mexico is a real plus.

My biggest concern and question: Is this new company a la Tesla or is it a DeLorean situation where the company just dries up and blows away leaving you high and dry with a car you can’t get repaired and can’t sell?

It’s very tempting and even more so because… no Elon. I won’t have to feel like I’m driving a MAGA hat.
