I hope it sells well so we get decent orders for book two, THE EDGE OF RUIN which will be out in early 2010. This is the life of a published writer. You pray a book sells well enough so you can write another book. But of course you need multiple books to build momentum for a series, and no publisher wants to commit to another book until they see how the first book sells. (I can’t blame them. I’m also a business woman, and I wouldn’t want to take a flyer.)
I was fortunate enough to have Tor give me two shots. And working off the assumption that these books are going to do well, I’ve decided to do a plot break on the third book, and start writing it.
