I was reflecting this morning about the inconsistency and hypocrisy of those on the right. So they’re all yelling about “states rights”, and the tenth amendment, and the Federal government is evil. Except when a state allow gay folks to marry, or make abortion easily available then they want a Constitutional amendment, or a federal law to stop those pernicious things from occurring. Sorry boys and girls, you can’t have it both ways.
And what does it say when the NRA and the Republicans will fight like badgers to guarantee the right of everyone to buy an assault rifle and thousands of rounds of ammunition, but they won’t allow a woman the right to make decisions regarding her own body? We are not children. How dare you treat as such, or worse as if you have ownership over our bodies.
And they sure don’t want anybody taking away their medicare of social security, but they’re fine when governors in poor red states are allowed to deny heath care to millions of people to make an ideological point.
I’m feeling sick, disgusted and rather hopeless this morning.
