I wish that was a reference to something exciting and nefarious, but it’s just me describing my morning. I’ve been putting cards on the board for the Wild Card movie, and started stressing over needing a B story. Then I realized I already had a B story, and it intersects nicely with the A story (always what you want).
Next issue — do I need a small C runner in this movie? I feel like I do. I’m not sure there’s enough going on without it. So, I went for a walk outside, and fed and watered the birds, and surveyed the manse, and gazed off 80 miles across the Galisteo Basin as I tried to figure out what that little C story might be. I need something lighter, a bit comedic to offset the top stories that are darker and more serious.
It need to be something that adds to our understanding of the Wild Card universe, and how the virus affected the lives of people living in that world, and how the world has changed.
I think it needs to tie back to American Hero, but I don’t have the character or the arc of that little story yet.
More pacing may be in order.
I love getting these little tidbits and insights into how your process works and how the WC movie is coming together!
It’s fun for me too. Since I don’t have a staff or a writer’s room to walk to and bounce ideas you guys become my sounding board. Though I have to be careful not to give away too much.
