I’m a bit amazed that the Righteous (Antideluvian) Right hasn’t gone batcrap crazy over the very sensitive and well done romance between a male Shepard and Kaidan in Mass Effect 3. Maybe they were distracted by magical lady parts that can tell the difference between a rapist’s sperm and a husband’s sperm? Whatever the reason I haven’t heard howls of outrage from the Republicans over the gay romance in this game.
It was one of the things they did right in ME3. In the previous two games the romances seemed like afterthoughts, and there was never a sense of being wooed, of building a relationship. All of that was there in the Kaidan romance.
To be fair there were some wonderful moments and missions during the game. Alas they choose to hand me a turd on a silver platter at the very end, and tell me it was a truffle.
At least my very long story continues to amuse me. I’ve just had to slow down on writing it so I can write contracted work.
