Folks may or may not know that Random House Audio is doing our Wild Cards books and has made the very exciting decision to hire different actors for the various characters instead of one reader for the entire book. The line up for JOKER’S WILD is as follows:

As if that wasn’t enough for me to be totally jazzed I just learned that Raphael Sbarge is going to be reading Dr. Tachyon in ACES ABROAD and DOWN AND DIRTY. Those of you fellow game geeks will recognize him as the voice of Kaidan Alenko in Mass Effect and Carth Onasi in Knights of the Old Republic. I had requested Raphael to read Tachyon and I couldn’t be more excited.
I had seen the rest of that when Mr. Milan put it on Facebook, but the addition of Mr. Sbarge is EXCELLENT news. And I hope they keep the multiple readers format, bring back Molly Quinn , Stephen McHattie and Felicia Day. (I don’t have an opinion on the others yet, as I haven’t heard of most of them. [Except that I do approve of Pam Grier, but really, she has what, two or three lines in “Down and Dirty,” I doubt they’d bring her back for that.])
The plan is to keep that model of different voices which is great news. Sbarge made Kaidan the most fascinating and emotionally deep character in Mass Effect.
Great group of people for the audio books – love Felicia Day from Supernatural.
I heard her speak and hung out with her when she was at the Cocteau. She is so cool. She was signing her auto-biography which is fantastic if you haven’t read it. I gave to an older friend and said, “Read this and you will start to understand the world of the young.” She loved it too.
