I’m watching with wonder and awe the people of Iran who are taking to the streets in an effort to promote a change in their country. After the hard line statements by the Supreme Leader it’s now clear that there is going to be bloodshed. I doubt I would have the courage to go into the street. The bravery of these people is profound.
I’m also smugly grinning as a science fiction writer. We saw this coming. In particular Walter Jon Williams saw this coming. He spoke on this subject months ago.
I barely utilize the potential of my Mac. I wish I really understood this wired society, and knew how to use my site as a proxy for the protestors in Iran. I guess I just wanted to acknowledge what is happening in a country that has been demonized for so long. Surprise — they’re people who share the same hopes and aspirations as Americans. Maybe it will open a few eyes, and show how stone crazy the neocons are to want a war with this nation.
