You won’t normally find me quoting or praising John McCain here.  I pretty much lost all respect for the man when he placed a highly unqualified individual on his presidential ticket.  But sometimes he has a wicked sense of humor.  This response to Louie Gohmert, Representative from Texas is priceless and worthy of my Southern grandmother.  At the Values Voter Summit ole’ Louie had made some incoherent statement that John McCain supported Al-Qaeda because of Syria… or something.  I was surprised when there was no response from the usually fiery tempered Senator from Arizona, but today we got the response, and it was so perfect and so very cruel.  When asked about Gohmert’s remarks McCain replied.

“Sometimes comments like that are made out of malice, but if someone has no intelligence I don’t feel it as being a malicious statement,” McCain said

The only thing missing from this statement would have been to add, “Bless his heart.”  Which for those of you without a Southern parent or grandparent is not a phrase of kindness.  It is an indication the speaker thinks the person they are “blessing” is an idiot or worse.
