So, it’s time for that End of the Holiday ritual known as the Denuding of the Tree.  Since I bought an 11 foot tall tree.  (I have a really tall ceiling where the tree stands), I need help placing the top decorations.  I had a party this year with home made eggnog and posole to put up the tree.  It’s a little harder to have a party to take it down.

Pat Rogers has volunteered to help me and since she five feet ten inches tall I’m very grateful.  We can muscle the ladder together, and she can hand down the top ornaments.

Then we drag the poor tree outside to the woodpile and some time in the spring I will cut it up for firewood.

I’d go with a live pinon, but in Santa Fe with the extreme cold you can only have it in the house for a couple of days or the sap starts to run and then it dies when you move it outside.  Or you keep it inside until April while doesn’t sound like a great idea.

I guess I just needed to say — I’m a little blue.  My tree is coming down.  The holiday is over and now it’s just the grey days of winter.
