Who is Melinda Snodgrass anyway?

After eight years as a novelist which included the publication of her CIRCUIT trilogy, and co-creating, editing, and writing for the Wild Card series, Melinda began her career as a story editor on STAR TREK:TNG, and wrote the Writer's Guild Award nominated script THE MEASURE OF A MAN. She worked for REASONABLE DOUBTS, and PROFILER, wrote six pilots, and had one produced and aired, STAR COMMAND. She is currently working on the third book in the EDGE series, has delivered the first book in a new urban fantasy series, and is starting on the second.  She has two screenplays currently under consideration in Hollywood.

“If H.P. Lovecraft and H. L. Mencken had ever collaborated, they might have come up with something like The Edge of Reason . This one will delight thinkers--and outrage true believers--of all stripes.” --George R. R. Martin

It's about time to head to the barn to say goodbye to Vento, and then down to Albuquerque to catch my plane.

I'll be back with many trip reports on April 17th.

Have fun.  I'm planning to.

Guilty Pleasure Two

My newest Guilty Pleasure now that Lipstick Jungle has been cancelled is NBC’s new series KINGS.   Hmm, Lipstick Jungle was also an NBC show.  I guess NBC has become the network of guilty pleasures.

Because Ian McShane of Deadwood fame was staring in the show I decided to add it to the Tivo list.  I’ve now watched the two hour pilot, and one episode.
It’s a weird mix of modern day conversations with the occasional almost 19th century sentence construction.  They are doing the whole King David thing.  Our young hero is named David, the king is Silas, and at times it’s incredibly heavy handed.  But the production values are very fine, and I’d watch McShane read the phone book.

I just checked Imdb, and viewership was down 65%.  Looks like my latest guilty pleasure is about to go into a ditch.  It is an incredibly ambitious and unusual show.  Which of course means it's doomed to die.
