I found something yummy at that money sink, Costco.  I’d gone in to buy the giant bag of bird seed, oranges to make juice, carrots and apples for Vento and the important thing — Grand Marnier for margaritas.

And the little ladies with the samples were dotted like ambushing soldiers all through the store.  One of them was heating up barbecue pork Bao.  I tried a bite.  It was delicious.

Now, I love dim sum.  It’s my favorite food.  (Sometimes I do American dim sum when I go out to dinner and just order several appetizers.)  Anyway, I love Bao so I decided to give them a try.

Today I decided I wanted oriental food for lunch.  I pulled out the vegetable Thai pot stickers from Trader Joe’s, some edamame, and the Bao.  Turns out you can steam all the prepackaged foods, and it just so happens I have a Miele steam oven.  So, I went to town.

While the pot stickers and Bao were steaming I made a dipping sauce of chili paste, soy sauce and rice vinegar.  I drenched the edamame with lemon and lime juice, and dusted them with kosher salt.

It was delicious.  So, I can give a whole hearted recommendation to the Bao from Costo.
