Okay, members of Congress should have to have a minimum   IQ before they are allowed to serve.  Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas clearly would not meet that minimum threshold.  Here are his “insightful” comments regarding the Denver movie theater massacre.

“You know what really gets me, as a Christian, is to see the ongoing attacks on Judeo-Christian beliefs, and then some senseless crazy act of a derelict takes place,”

He went on to suggest that the shootings were still “a terrorist act” that could have been avoided if the country placed a higher value on God.

Okay, the first statement is just divorced from objective reality.  Because kids can’t be forced to pray to a Christian god in school any longer some gun nut kills people in a movie theater?  Huh?

Ole Louie goes on to become even more deranged and unmoored from reality when he add:

“It does make me wonder, with all those people in the theater, was there nobody that was carrying a gun that could have stopped this guy more quickly?”

Yeah, I always take my Beretta to the movies with me.  And I’m sure in a darkened theater, and blinded by the light from the screen, terrified, and in a room filled with equally terrified people I would manage to aim perfectly and take down the gunman without hitting a single innocent person.

Gohmert is one of the same cadre of haters who joined with Michelle Bachmann to smear a loyal American who is serving her country in the State Department, Huma Abedin  John McCain regained a lot of my respect when he called out this kind of fear mongering on the floor of the senate.

So here’s a message for voters in Texas.  Seriously, guys, do you really want to be represented by this kind of stupid?  Maybe you should consider a change.
