After Rand’s very perceptive comment about my Mote post, I went back and edited it to make it clear that Ms. Sherrod deserves nothing but priase for her dignified behavior.  Because I live in my own head I had thought that was clear but it wasn’t on the page.  And as I know from Hollywood if it ain’t on the page, it ain’t there.  You’ve got to say the words.

I had congratulated the bravery and integrity of the farmer, but forgot to say it in plain English that Ms. Sherrod is an extraordinary person who was treated in a most shameful manner.  Check out Rachel Maddow’s analysis of the use of white fear through the decades since Nixon.  It’s disgusting, and Fox and the Right Wing bloggers are playing with a terribly toxic brew.

But now I’ve got to get some pages written, and then get ready to plunge back into Comic-Con.

I realized today that there are twice as many people at this convention as live in Santa Fe.  Had a great time at a party last night, and am looking forward to another couple of events tonight.

I may be a zombie by the time I get home.
