The latest installment in the Wild Card universe will hit the stands on Tuesday (December 9th, 2008). My character is featured on the cover, and as usual the artwork by Michael Komarck is terrific.
I also wrote the interstitial material for the book, and many and fervent thanks to George R.R. for suggesting I write it in first person. Turns out I have a real gift for first person. Who knew?
I had always been terrified by it. I grew up reading Zelazny, the master of first person, and I thought of it as really, really hard. Maybe it was the years in Hollywood, but it makes it more like a screenplay, and the desription doesn’t seem as leaden when it’s in first person.
Anyway, please check out the book. I think we need a nice job on this one.
